If you are 13 or older, you can become a teen volunteer! Whether you are a people person, or prefer to work behind the scenes, we have opportunities for you.
Teen Volunteer Roles:
Program Helper:
- Assist at kids programs and special events (click ‘events’ tab for current calendar)
- Assist older adults with using computers or devices
Craft Prepper:
- Cut supplies and/or assemble crafts for future programs
- Assemble kits for take-home programs
Cleaner:
- Sanitize surfaces, door knobs, and public computer equipment
- Dust shelves
- Break down boxes
- Tidy up (push in chairs, etc.)
- Organize craft supplies, etc.
Collection Organizer:
- Color-code series and picture books
- Alphabetize (especially children’s section)
- Hunt for books on missing book list
- Shelving (putting returned materials away)
- Help with the discarding process of old books
Teen Corner Decorator:
- Recommend teen books/graphic novels for the library to purchase
- Create a book display
- Create a book list
- Decorate! (We have lots of decorations)
Marketer/Photographer/Graphic Designer:
- Take photos at programs and post them on socials with our ipads
- Create promo video for a particular program or event
- Graphic design on Canva
