I think I may just as well, since I don\u2019t want the project to lose its shape with use. I will be storing real life clunky objects in this bag, like car keys.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To make handle straps (make 4, <strong>NOT 2 like the pattern reads)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With color yarn of your choice, cast on 7 sts<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Row 1 (right side): Slip 1 knitwise, knit across<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Row 2 (wrong side): Slip 1 purlwise, purl across<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Repeat rows 1-2 until piece measures 4 \u00bd inches.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bind off, leaving a long end for sewing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finishing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thread yarn needle with long length of yarn. Fold bag in half with right sides together. Match seams and rows. Sew seam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the liner I made:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/SKGYFjmwf9TygGamqjbPPbrXotKMft1qNKfeB2gBDJzXhSrNgy_N1BSECEnpv55LuXmvsrw2XWCBNpn5xZI_Ua544vdgJsvYyR-CCu3zsG_GVkI3cpPN3pSRC6eeBBUDFF0Nrtrq\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>With bag flat on a hard surface, measure for Handle Strap placement. Thread needle using the long tail left on each strap. With wrong side of Handle Strap and wrong side of bag both facing you, sew each Handle Strap to<strong> Row 2<\/strong> of bag. Thread strap through wooden handle, fold Handle Strap, with wrong sides together and matching cast-on edge with bind-off edge, sew securely.
