{"id":7344,"date":"2021-03-19T12:59:59","date_gmt":"2021-03-19T16:59:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/schuylervillelibrary.sals.edu\/?p=7344"},"modified":"2021-07-01T11:57:23","modified_gmt":"2021-07-01T15:57:23","slug":"irish-soda-bread","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/schuylervillelibrary.sals.edu\/index.php\/2021\/03\/19\/irish-soda-bread\/","title":{"rendered":"Irish Soda Bread"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"top\" \/>\n<p><strong>Irish Soda Bread<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preheat oven to 350 degrees<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3 cups all-purpose unbleached flour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00be teaspoon salt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bd cup sugar<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 teaspoon baking soda<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bd teaspoon baking powder<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bc teaspoon cream of tartar<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1\/3 cup butter, cold, cut into pieces<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 1\/3 cup buttermilk<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Optional: 1\/3 cup raisins or currents<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mix all together. It will be sticky. Sprinkle flour on countertop surface and on your hands. Knead dough 2 minutes. Form into round loaf. Place on a greased baking sheet and use sharp knife to make a cross slit on top. Bake 60 minutes.
